Joe Darthmaz brings you another Retro Walt Disney World attraction full ride-through video.
Body Wars was a motion simulator attraction that was featured in the Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot in Walt Disney World. The attraction opened on October 19, 1989 and would take riders on a fantastical mission by the fictional Miniaturized Exploration Technologies (MET) corporation.
The attraction’s story was that these brave souls were shrunken down to a cellular level to observe the process of white blood cells attacking a splinter inside the body of a human volunteer. The attraction utilized the Advanced Technology Leisure Application Simulator (ATLAS) motion simulator technology, which was first used in the original Star Tours attraction at Disneyland. This attraction’s concept is similar to that of an early Disneyland attraction called “Adventure Thru Inner Space,” in which riders are also meant to believe that they were being shrunken down to a sub-atomic level of existence during their ride journey.
Body Wars ceased operation, along with all other elements of the Wonders of Life pavilion on January 1, 2007. However, you can still enjoy it here, on our channel.
