Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run Full Ride-Through & Queue from Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Joe Darthmaz brings you a full ride-through of the Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run attraction at Galaxy's Edge from Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Portions of the exterior and interior queue are featured as well.

Much has been said and written about the quality of this attraction since it debuted at Galaxy's Edge in Disney Parks on both coasts. Some of the more negative comments were along the lines of...

"It is just a simulator ride..."
"It's a modern Star Tours..."
"We waited for years, for this?!'

A case can be made for all of the above comments. However, as a lifelong Star Wars fan, who struggles to not get dragged down by today's constant search for what is wrong with everything and everyone, every minute of every day, I really enjoyed it immensely. And that was after waiting almost ninety minutes.

Walking into that section of Galaxy's Edge and being faced with (what I can only imagine is) a life-sized Millennium Falcon was almost enough for me. Getting to experience a recreation of the interior of the ship, only made me happier. The fact that the ride was enjoyable sealed the deal.

Would I have preferred that the entire land be set in the time of the original trilogy? Yes. However, the addition of Hondo, one the best characters to come out of the Clone Wars animated series, was a phenomenal move. Hondo is your guide and "employer" on your Smuggler's Run journey. Having just the right blend of charm, humor, and sliminess, Honda fills the role very nicely.

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy a journey aboard the most loveable piece of junk in the galaxy, courtesy of Joe Darthmaz. Afterward, you can decide if you agree with some of the attraction's detractors or those like me, who are thrilled to have an attraction like this to enjoy.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Full Ride-Through Video

This time around, Joe Darthmaz brings you a full ride-through of one of the most beloved Magic Kingdom attractions of hardcore Walt Disney World fans, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. The PeopleMover is an imaginative creation of Walt Disney himself, intended originally as a short distance conveyance system for citizens of his never-realized Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT.) No not the theme park...the community of the future that Walt envisioned building as part of the massive plot of land that is now known as Walt Disney World.

Walt dreamed of revolutionizing urban living in America by creating a utopian community where folks could live and work in a reality made better by the technology and innovativeness of American industry and ingenuity. The WEDway PeopleMover, an early name of the more practical invention that eventually became ride technology, would move citizens across short distances in his community, without the need for cars. This innovative approach was environmentally friendly, in a time when not many were concerned about such things. It would reduce the use of gas-fired combustion engine cars, reducing traffic and harmful emissions simultaneously.

Sadly, Walt's death in 1966 put an end to the dream of EPCOT as an actual community. However, the PeopleMover technology was marketed to municipalities and industries around the US and there are a few instances of its use in practical non-theme park locations. In 1975, the PeopleMover was added to Tomorrowland as part of a rejuvenation of the somewhat lackluster Magic Kingdom land.

The PeopleMover takes guests on a leisurely yet brisk sightseeing trip through Tomorrowland from an elevated trackway that winds through the land and even into some of its classic buildings, with accompanying narration pointing out the highlights of the tour. Powered completely by linear induction motors (using electromagnets to propel the ride vehicles,) the PeopleMover is still somewhat futuristic...at least in America where we don't use superconductor tech for trains.

The ride-through version we present also provides a look at the construction of the Tron Light Cycle Run coaster (as of late July 2021) scheduled to open in 2022 at Walt Disney World.

Boo to You Parade from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2014 from M...

So many things have been taken away at the Disney Parks lately that looking to the past is more comforting and enjoyable than ever. With that in mind, Joe Darthmaz brings you a full version of the “Boo to You” Halloween parade from the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party event which was held on select nights from late August through Halloween night at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom until the COVID-cursed 2020.

This event was a fairly reasonably priced hard-ticketed event that was held after hours at the Magic Kingdom, which allowed you to enjoy reduced crowd levels, a special Halloween themed castle stage show and parade (brought to you here in its entirety from the 2014 version of the party,) and trick or treat trails from which you could collect all the candy that you could carry during the event in your specially themed treat bag, also provided as part of the price of admission. This party, which also featured Halloween themed deserts and merchandise for purchase, was replaced this year (2021) by the scaled-down, exorbitantly priced and poorly received “Disney After Hours Boo Bash.”

Copyrights on the parade music prohibit us from providing the original audio. However, we have augmented the video with a delightful track entitled “Spooky Ride,” (see credit on the YouTube watch page) which adds a playful and slightly creepy soundtrack, very much in the same spirit of the songs that were originally featured in this phenomenal parade.

Disney Princess Cavalcade from Magic Kingdom

Since Walt Disney World re-opened from the pandemic closure, parades have sadly been absent from the parks. They were replaced with scaled down mini-parades that Disney named "character cavalcades." These cavalcades have been unscheduled so as to avoid the gathering of large crowds in an attempt to provide social distancing. Over the past few weeks, Joe Darthmaz has been bringing you videos of some of these cavalcades, filmed during our recent trip Walt Disney World.

Today's video is the Disney Princess Cavalcade from Magic Kingdom, which features Merida on horseback, Belle, and Tiana, as well as Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Elena, Mulan, Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother, and Rapunzel all on the classic glass castle float.

If you like this video, please consider giving it a “thumbs up.” Feel free to leave a comment about your favorite memories or with suggestions for future videos.

Pixar Character Cavalcade from Disney's Hollywood Studios from Joe Darthmaz on YouTube

Since Walt Disney World re-opened in 2020 from the pandemic closure, parades have sadly been absent from the parks. They were replaced with scaled down mini-parades that Disney named "character cavalcades." These cavalcades were initially unscheduled so as to avoid the gathering of large crowds in an attempt to promote social distancing. While they are not a legitimate replacement for a proper Disney parade, the cavalcades are a nice impromptu piece of character entertainment that can sneak up on you during your park day.

Today, Joe Darthmaz bringing you the second of the cavalcade videos, filmed during our recent trip to Walt Disney World. This video features the Pixar Character Cavalcade from Disney's Hollywood Studios, starring Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, Edna Mode, Sully, Woody, the drumming Green Army Men, and Buzz Lightyear.

Alien Swirling Saucers Full Ride-Through POV - Check it Out at Joe Darthmaz on YouTube

It's that other ride in Toy Story Land...Yes, Alien Swirling Saucers. It's basically the Mad Tea Party without the ability to spin your ride vehicle to the point where you want to throw up not only what you ate that day, but everything you have ever eaten since birth.

Aliens Swirling Saucers may be more geared for the younger crowd, but is good harmless fun for all. If you remember the old "Whip" ride that was at your local amusement park or traveling fair/feast, or if you are old enough to remember when a mobile version of the ride would visit your neighborhood transported at the back of a truck (a very city-thing,) and this elicits fond memories, then you will love Alien Swirling Saucers. If you don't remember any of that, you can still enjoy it. However, you will enjoy it muuuuch less if you wait longer than 20-30 minutes, since it is basically an off-the-shelf carnival ride which lasts about ninety seconds, with some Disney theming.

Still, this attraction can be a fun little break from all the E-ticket attractions at Hollywood Studios on your way to/from the non-tunneled entrance/exit to/from Galaxy's Edge. The massive and towering Buzz Lightyear near the entrance helps to sell the idea that you have been shrunken to the size of one of Andy's toys and provides for great photo opportunities.

So if it has a reasonable wait time and you are in the mood for some youthful and memory-inducing fun, check out Alien Swirling Saucers. BUT FOR NOW, check out our full video ride-through, here at Joe Darthmaz.

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Pre-Show Video: See it at JoeDarthmaz on YouTube

Walt Disney World is unique in that uber fans embrace all elements of the experience that make being in the parks so special. Some call it the "Disney Bubble," an otherworldly feeling of leaving the mundane and worry-filled world behind and entering a place where life is a little simpler, a little happier, a little more...magical.

In that spirit, Joe Darthmaz brings you a first on the channel, a pre-show, specifically the pre-show for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor attraction. The attraction itself, while sometimes the subject of debate in terms of its merit and worth, is a truly unique theme park experience. Borrowing on the technology and interactive nature of the Turtle Talk with Crush attraction, it expands the Monsters Inc. universe by introducing new characters, years before the second film Monsters University did the same on film. It is cute, fun, and a nice complement to the Monsters films.

Photography is normally prohibited in the attraction, so here we bring you the pre-show to whet your appetite for the real deal and bring you closer to the magic, if it will be some time until your next (or first) visit to the Vacation Kingdom.
