It's that other ride in Toy Story Land...Yes, Alien Swirling
Saucers. It's basically the Mad Tea Party without the ability to spin your ride
vehicle to the point where you want to throw up not only what you ate that day,
but everything you have ever eaten since birth.
Aliens Swirling Saucers may be more geared for the younger
crowd, but is good harmless fun for all. If you remember the old
"Whip" ride that was at your local amusement park or traveling
fair/feast, or if you are old enough to remember when a mobile version of the
ride would visit your neighborhood transported at the back of a truck (a very
city-thing,) and this elicits fond memories, then you will love Alien Swirling
Saucers. If you don't remember any of that, you can still enjoy it. However,
you will enjoy it muuuuch less if you wait longer than 20-30 minutes, since it
is basically an off-the-shelf carnival ride which lasts about ninety seconds,
with some Disney theming.
Still, this attraction can be a fun little break from all the
E-ticket attractions at Hollywood Studios on your way to/from the non-tunneled
entrance/exit to/from Galaxy's Edge. The massive and towering Buzz Lightyear
near the entrance helps to sell the idea that you have been shrunken to the
size of one of Andy's toys and provides for great photo opportunities.
So if it has a reasonable wait time and you are in the mood
for some youthful and memory-inducing fun, check out Alien Swirling Saucers.
