Finding Nemo: The Big Blue...and Beyond Full Show in 4K

If you have never been to see the Finding Nemo musical in Disney's Animal Kingdom, you've already waited too long. The original production (entitled Finding Nemo The Musical) was 15 minutes longer and more elaborately staged than the current incarnation, but closed with Disney World for the COVID-19 pandemic and never re-opened. However, this current version, although a victim of the modern-era Disney cost-cutting, still brings the story of the classic animated film to the stage with heartwarming charm and very talented stage performers.

The show is a twenty-five minute musical retelling the basic plot points of the original 2002 film, using elaborate puppetry and Broadway-style staging effects. It is cute, fun, and at times, tugs at the heartstrings. The performers bring the characters to life in a way that unfortunatley sells themselves short, in that you find yourself staring not at them, but at the oversized puppets they are simultaneously performing.

While it is true that the show is targeted at a "family" demographic, it is enjoyable and entertaining for all. In fact, I challenge anyone to walk out of that theater without at least one of those songs cemented into your brain for the next few hours...and beyond! (insert cringe here) For fans of the Epcot attraction The Seas with Nemo and Friends, you will find the earworm "In the Big Blue World" waiting for you here as well.

Considering all of this and the fact that it is a half-hour out of the Animal Kingdom heat, there is no reason to miss this show on your next visit. In the meantime, enjoy a full 4K version of the show right here at JoeDarthmaz on YouTube.
