Only in America, could a young man on the verge of financial ruin, make a sketch of a cartoon mouse on a cross country train trip and though his perseverance, determination, hard work, and imagination, parlay it in to a multi-billion dollar entertainment empire that brings joy and wonder to millions every day across the globe.
Today, let's be proud. Proud to be a young upstart nation that refused to yield. Proud to be part of a nation with a short past, but a bright future. Proud to enjoy the freedom that makes us vulnerable at times, but strong always. Let's be proud of that which makes us hated by others, the envy of not being able to attain in their ancient lands, what we have built and maintained here for over two hundred years. In short, let's be proud to be American.
